Mascara primers: Are they worth the hype?

Hello Notepadders,

Mascara primers have been floating around the beauty world for a good couple of years now. They claim to make your mascara last longer and enhance the length and thickness of your lashes. I’ve been testing mine out for a couple of months now so I thought today’s post would tackle the question: are mascara primers worth it?

The Self Love Tag

Hello Notepadders,

If you’ve stuck around this little slice of the internet for some time you’ll know that I love taking part in these blogger tags, you can read some of my others HERE if you’d like!

As soon as I saw Just Lucy’s Life create this special tag I knew I wanted to take part. Self love is so important for your physical and mental health so, if I can help it catch on, I’ll have done my job! Make sure you read her post for a full explanation.

A trip to Liverpool

Hello Notepadders,

You may not know this but one of my most popular posts on this little slice of the internet is my lifestyle London blog (you can read it HERE if you haven’t already). I’m always getting likes, comments and views on it to this day. So I figured that, since you liked those style of posts, I would try to incorporate more into Emily’s World.

For my 21st birthday Chris booked a surprise trip away with the hint to pack “bug spray”. Instantly I panicked thinking it was camping, I mean I love being outdoors but the thought of sleeping outside with all the creepy crawlies didn’t sit well with me. Nevertheless it was a big surprise when we didn’t end up in a field somewhere and instead arrived in Liverpool.

I took my camera with me to take some snapshots for my scrapbook (and looked like the ultimate tourist, let me assure you!) so I thought I’d share them with you…

Embracing sadness

Hello Notepadders,

Today I’ve had one of those utterly dreadful days where everything seems to go wrong and it’s times like this that I feel defeated, like I can’t be positive again and basically like a Harry Potter dementor has sucked out my soul.

Anyway, enough with the ‘woe is me’ drama. I’m well aware that there are people out there in far worse situations and I’m lucky to be in the position I am. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t feel sad.

So today I thought I’d chat about embracing sadness and using it as a source of inspiration.

5 ways to de-stress

Hello Notepadders,

Recently I’ve been taking some time to de-stress and unwind from the whirlwind that is life. When I was in college I’d burn the candle at both ends, never having time for myself and suffering because of it. Now it’s something I take seriously, having some ‘self love’ can really help your mindset and outlook on life.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

Hello Notepadders,

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I feel like I start off every blog post with that question but, alas, here I am again apologising for my absence. Uni has taken over every aspect of my life and I found myself falling asleep at 10 o’clock clutching my Pukka Pad and pens. I know it’s no excuse as there are thousands of people running their blog alongside aΒ full time job but I felt like I owed you an explanation!

Today I’m going to be talking about the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette. Now I’m not going to lie, I’ve had it in my collection for a couple of months. But at least you know my review is genuine… silver linings people.

REVIEW | Real Techniques Bold Metal Brushes

Hello Notepadders,

I’m going to confess this now before we go any further. I’m a makeup brush fiend. There I said it and now we can move on.

There’s something about brushes that I just have this fascination with. I’ve always got a gap in my collection that I need to fill and I just love seeing if they apply my makeup any better.

Today I’m going to talk about the brush gurus of the beauty world, Real Techniques. I was lucky enough to be gifted their Bold Metals collection for Christmas (little late to the party, I know) so I’ve tried them out over the past couple months to let you know honestly how I’ve got on.
